What do you understand about your father’s case?
Well, Ever since it’s become known that Atticus is going to defend Tom Robinson Jem and I have been criticised everywhere we go. Just a few weeks ago Mrs Dubose had called him a “nigger lover” and, even Francis had the nerve to call him that.
Atticus’ says that he’s not going to win the court case, and he’s only doing it because he thinks he’s right.
Sometimes I wonder why everyone is reacting to Atticus’ choice with such disrespect.
What has been a valuable life lesson ? Why?
When I made a fuss about Walter coming over Calpurnia had gotten angry at me, she said that no matter who the person was, they would be my company once they set into the house.
Atticus teaches me a lot life lessons - after I asked him about the court case he claimed that that sometimes you have to stand up for what is right and not for what the majority are fitting for even if that means you are ridiculed.
