Atticus Finch is one of the major characters in Harper Lee 's To Kill a Mockingbird written in 1960. Atticus is a lawyer in Maycomb, the representative of Alabama in the State Legislator and the father of Scout and Jem Finch. The major themes and ideas tackled in Lee 's novel such as social inequality and intolerance, education, legal justice and bravery are represented in one way or another through this character. Introduction:
To kill a mocking bird is a book written by Harper Lee in 1961 which the story turns around social problems such as prejudice and racism against African American in south of United States in 1930’s. The protagonist in this story is Atticus Finch as a father for two children, Lawyer in Mayacomb city and a hero in defending an African American accused man against the wave of oppression and racism of the time.Atticus finch characterization by Harper lee let the reader fully emerge in the story which is told by his daughter Scout as a first person narrator.
Atticus Finch is the father of two children. His character can best be described as a man whose character is nearly the complete opposite of the general population of the town. He is a man without prejudice and racial hatred and is a benevolent man of strong morals. He raise his children the way he sees right. Atticus looks into the depth of people’s character regardless of their color and looks. In the face of prejudice and strong emotions of the people of Maycomb he tries to make his own children see that it is better to use one 's head than to resort to fists. Jem and Scout have perfect confidence in their father. He always tells them the truth, and they are secure in the knowledge that he loves
