I am not brown.Your name is not white or black, but that is what the world calls us. As Prince Ea said, we did not came out of our mother’s womb saying “Hey everybody I’m black.” On the novel of To Kill A Mockingbird, we could already see how the society that time treated each other negatively and this is what Atticus Finch refer as one of the maycomb’s usual disease. It’s normal for people to talk about other people having a different race from them and how those people are lower than them. But this belief that they have is unjust and can cause serious consequences not only for this generation but also in the future generations. But in the same it is also a harsh truth about the kind of community that we had back in the nineteenth and twentieth century. One of the main points of the trial is when the white people sat on the ground floor, while the black people sat in the balcony of the courtroom. This is important because under this circumstance there is racial segregation between black and white people. In fact, they are not allowed to be mixed up in any kind of way or event. Not only is there a racial segregation, but also there in a inequality within the two races. Before everyone came inside the courtroom the black or coloured people should wait for all the white people to enter the courtroom before they could get in. Within this we could already see the inequality, wherein the white people believe that they have higher rights and privileges than the coloured people because they are white. However this is quite different for Aunt Alexandra because she is a type of person who thinks so highly of herself. "I can't say I approve of everything he does, Maudie, but he's my brother, and I just want to know when this will ever end." Her voice rose: "It tears him to pieces. He doesn't show it much, but it tears him to pieces." When aunt Alexandra said this to miss Maudie it means she will and always be loyal to her family and most importantly she will love and care for them no matter what. But in the other she also dislike Scout for behaving like a tomboy that’s why she tries to turn Scout into a lady. Aunt Alexandra believes that Scout should be brought up with a feminine influence as she said to Scout “would be best for you to have some feminine influence”. She wants Scout to act like other girls in her age should be interested in clothes and boys. Another reason she wants Scout to act a lady is because if Scout act like a tomboy and play with boys then she will be embarrassing the Finch family.
