Art plays an important role of art development in history. The unique and dramatic working process created the wonder to all posterity. Artwork are always reflected the development of the society. It represented the cultural Significance and highlight the wealth of the historical value. A good artworks shows the different development from each era and the unique historical achievement. Rome’s history were dived into three specific period. The Monarchy, Republic, and Empire (1). The Monarchy was ruled by seven kings that from 753 to 509 B.C. With the banishment of the last Etruscan King, the Roman people stepped into a new era, the republic. During the republic ( 509-31 BCE) period, the Roman society was controlled by the Senate and the Plebeian Assembly. The Caesar Augustus ended the Republican era and start a new system that called the Roman Empire (31 BCE to 476 CE) (2). With the development of concrete, arches and vaulting (3). It is inspired from the Polykleitos' Doryphoros. With the idealized structure, the artist represented a youthful looking Empire with a contrapposto pose. Augustus wears a military armor that represent he is the one that brought the Pax Romana. His arm was point to the sky that shows he is the highest power. Cellus, the sky god is appear on his armor which point out Augustus as the son of god. The little cupid is sit beside Augustus which shows his relationship with Venus, the god of love (3). With all of these symbolism message, the artist shows a strong leader that carries the power of a god. The Augustus of Prima Porta is clearly idealized. It influenced the Romans that Augustus is son of god and also a great ruler that will bring peace and stability of Roman. The Augustus of Prima Porta achieved the purpose of the imperial portraits that shapes the public impassion and belief of
