Auschwitz- Birkenau In Germany during World War II many things took place and Hitler implicated many things that changed the lives of others. Hitler created a “solution” to kill all Jews in the country of Europe. To help achieve this concentration camps-places where Jews and prisoners chosen by the SS went to work in forced labor or murdered-were established. This being said many lives were lost in these concentration camps. One of these concentration camps was, Auschwitz-Birkenau. The facility of Auschwitz-Birkenau was created because of Hitler and the German plan, impacted the war, housed many prisoners and helped to kill millions of people. The Auschwitz facility was created for a few reasons in particular and housed millions of people, there are a lot of facts about this concentration camp. Some facts are why Auschwitz was created, where it was located, its popularity, and when it became independent then not. The first reason Auschwitz was created was to incarcerate the enemies of the Nazi regime. Second, it was a place to have people working in forced labor. There were over forty of these sub camps.(Auschwitz-). One of the largest one of these sub camps was called Monowitz. Though this camp was called Monowitz, it was also referred to as Auschwitz III.(Michael). The sub camp of Monowitz was where the headquarters were at and its commandant as a manager and commander of the SS.(Monowitz).
