Today there are millions of charities around the world anywhere from helping animals to getting kids school supplies. Many of them need money or donations to help their charity thrive. To do that, charities us advertisements to persuade people to either donate or volunteer. The Red Cross is one example of these charities. According to the Red Cross, The Australian Red Cross has had many successes since its creation in 1914. They have assisted in different national disasters, helped bring in more blood donations, and much more. They are well know and want to continue to be a large, thriving charity. One of the phrases on there is, “Money isn’t everything.” They put this in their advertisement to show people that money isn’t the only thing they need to help people. Some people may be unable to donate money or just don’t want to so the Red Cross is advertising how people can help for free. This makes donating seem affordable and makes it so almost everyone can help. This also makes the Red Cross seem more trustworthy since blood can only really be used in one way while money can be used however they like. The wording also connects with picture of the box full of blood.The Red Cross uses the image of what is commonly known as a donation box for money to emphasize their statement that money isn’t everything. The donation box sits in the middle of the add filled with blood rather than money. This shows that blood is just as good of a donation as money is. It also shows that donating blood is just as important as donating money as well. They Red Cross can always find a way to get funds, but they can’t get blood unless people donate it. This can encourage more people to donate since they don’t have to give up their hard earned
