Did you know that I made a round chute to reduce stress on farm animals. Hi I am Temple Grandin but before I start talking to you about my life so far if you are going to take pictures please turn off your flash it really bothers me being autistic. I was born August 29th 1947 in Boston Massachusetts. I was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3. I didn't start talking till the age of 4. My parents names are Richard Grandin and Eustacia Cattler. My fault her was a realtor and my mother was a writer, singer, and an actress. Some people with autism have a problem with touch like having their hair shampooed could feel awful. Or when a parent gives a child a hug it could be horrible to. I remember my father yelling at my mother telling her that I was insane and that I should be put into an institution but my mother wouldn't allow it.I remember in high school one of my teachers helped me build a squeeze chute. It worked really well I still use it till this day. A squeeze chute is a built stall or cage holding cattle horses or livestock safely while being checked over or given medicine. I went to school at Franklin pierce college. I got a degree in psychology, I also have a masters degree in animal science. I worked as a consultant with large slaughterhouses so that I could help them improve the quality of life of their cattle. As you can see I was very busy when I was younger.I noticed that animals would get scared going into a dip vat. A regular dip vat is seven feet deep that the cattle would have to go in. The cattle would have to walk on a steel ramp then slide down a steep slope into the pool. Know one understood why the cattle would jump into the air and flip over and
