Automotive Career Essay The career I picked for the career essay is an automotive technician. An auto mechanic is one of the few jobs that will always be around because there will always be cars on the road and there will always be broken cars that will have to be maintained. In order to be a general service technician or a master mechanic you need some type of training from either on the job training or a college certification. To be able to be a technician you need to be 18 and have a clean background and clean driving record. An auto mechanics job is to identify a problem, test parts and systems to make sure they work properly, perform basic care and maintenance, and repair and replace worn parts like brakes, tires, wheel bearings, sensors, and other suspension and engine parts that wear out over time. Auto repair shops look for people who have been to these schools with their ASE Certifications to hire as a master mechanic.
