One way I can support autonomy is to ask the children questions and see what their opinions are before I say what I believe. The second way happens when the children have free time I can have them decide what they would like to do from a wide variety of choices. For an individual child I can keep asking simple questions to get the child to think about the topics. Then ask the child what he or she thinks other children are thinking about for the same topic. In a group I can ask questions and have the children each share their own view about the question. If one child repeats the same answer as another I will simply say that answer is great, but you must see things a little differently from blank. The blank being the child's name. . One reason why autonomy is important is because without confident the child may not be motivated to overcome any problems that occur during school work and even outside the school zone. Outside the school zone can be the child's relationship with peers, family and other members in the community. Confidence can help a person not be afraid of others and can make the person stand out from another during events. The second reason is that autonomy leads to creativity. In the classroom the child can make new ideas to solve a problem and create something that might have not been created before. This goes with confidence because if the child's idea was not successful he or she will create another one that could work. For life success being creative can get a person different jobs and make them known. If one person comes up with an idea that never been done before and a lot of other people like the idea that person could become famous for the idea. The last reason is that autonomy is important to make a workplace running and become successful. A company needs to have employees that are motivated and have the ability to do things without needing some to guide them every second.
