Emissions testing that has become a mandatory law in many states has prompted many automobile owners to either buy a newer vehicle that already passes emissions or requires that they make repairs to their current vehicle in order to pass emissions testing. AutoZone has responded to these changes in a very helping hand kind of way. They have published a step-by-step guide on their website for their consumers with directions and diagrams on how to locate and replace the parts that are necessary to pass the emissions testing. By creating a map so to speak of the what replacements must be made, they are creating more opportunities for consumers to make purchases from their stores rather than paying a mechanic or buying a new vehicle altogether. Recently AutoZone experienced some negative economic changes. During the third quarter of 2016, AutoZone was faced with some currency issues. Millennials, when compared to those of past generations are more likely to live, work and shop all in very close proximity and prefer to be located in urban areas. Essentially, within walking distance to wherever they need to go, which does not require the need for a vehicle (Journal of the American Planning Association, 2015).
