A dream within a dream is a poem by one of the most famous poets in history, Edgar Allan Poe. By my understandings the poem is about how the author cannot have a grasp on time after one goodbye kiss. By the sand slipping away from his fingers, he means that his time is going at an accelerated rate, to where he himself feels afraid. The title is also repeated throughout the poem, and by that he means life is an illusion. Most people won’t agree with this saying, but for the narrator it seems to be a repeated thought that he can’t get out of his head giving it a more psychotic feel.
