The Hero’s Journey: Ayrton Senna Throughout his journey, Ayrton’s personality has altered vastly. From an academically limited, clumsy and left-handed spoiled kid who is suffering from a motor-coordination problem to one of the most amazing and iconic figures in Formula 1. Facing numerous hardships, Ayrton discovered astonishing new abilities far beyond his imagination. Ayrton’s journey only began once his dad built him a kart and let him drive his car. Throughout the years, he managed to make it from karting championships, all the way into Formula 1. Sadly, it all came to an end when he crashed in 1994 into a concrete barrier. Ayrton Senna helped inspire and form the sport we love today. Ayrton’s early life contributed in making him one of the most inspirational and iconic drivers in Formula 1 history. Ayrton was a native of Sao Paulo, Brazil where he is born and raised. He was a lucky kid, his family was a wealthy one, with his father as a successful businessman but also passionate about motor racing and cars. They can see how he was just more agile and rapid, more courageous and more smarter than anyone else on the Formula 1 circuit. His skills and nerve allowed him to do things on the track that no one had seen before or since. A much smaller group considers him a villain, a danger because of his single-mindedness and overpowering desire to win.
