Billy Bibbit, 31, of Oregon, passed away December 4, 1958 as a result of injuries sustained in a suicidal attempt. He was born December 5, 1927 in Portland, the son of Mary and Paul Bibbit. He attended Beverly Cleary School and graduated from Grant High School in 1945, where he was awarded with the gold academic award. He was emitted into a Mental Hospital, by choice, in 1950. Billy was a shy but a proud man, many that knew him describe him as nice, hard trying, and beautiful.
Melba Pattillo Beals was born on the same day of the Pearl Harbor attack. When Melba was born, she was detected scalp infection in which cause multiple medical complications. Her life was at risk due to the fact that she was African American and was not given proper medical care by the doctors. The doctors and nurses did not do much to save newborn Melba. Melba’s mother, Lois, took it to herself to help her daughter survive.

Melba Patillo Beals had to find strength while struggling through bullying and harrassment because she was one of the nine black members who attended central high school when it first integrated as the the first integrated school in arkansas. Protesters and white students would call her and the rest of LR9 names and tell them to go home and try to harm them. Even though they had national guards and different troops to protect them she was assigned a soldier named Danny , there were a lot of rules against protecion for the guards so there for There were many instances where their lives were in great danger. One day however, the school decided to go a day without any protection.

Lee reignited the fight between white supremacists who supported the monument and liberal people who wanted the statues to be taken down. Also, lots of other cities have Confederate monuments and can’t decide what to do with them. The solution to these issues is to remove them from public spaces and put them in museums dedicated to recognizing the mistakes we made during the Civil War and honoring those who died.

During the proposal of the Equal Rights Amendment in 1972, Schlafly founded a group with more proactive approach called “Stop ERA” with one goal in mind, to defeat the ratification of ERA. After the success of the “Stop ERA” campaign, Phyllis Schlafly founded the eagle forum, a pro family group dedicated to “opposing all encroachments against American sovereignty through…feminist goals” (Schlafly). The number of people infected through local transmission in Miami has risen to 15 as of Monday, September 5th. The number of Zika cases nation wide has been confirmed by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention to be a staggering 1,658 cases. All but one of these cases has been contracted through travel to Zika-infected areas. Over 400 of these confirmed cases involve pregnant women, seventeen of who have given birth to babies with birth defects and five of which have resulted in lost pregnancies.
