got so good at baseball that the Baltimore Orioles owner Jack Dunn was invited to watch him practice in February of 1914. Jack Dunn was so impressed that he offered him a contract to play for the Baltimore Orioles at the age of 19 as a pitcher that also can be a very successful hitter. Since Ruth Jr. was so young the contract that Jack Dunn offered him could not be completed unless Dunn became the legal guardian of Ruth Jr. After all of the guardian problems was settled George Ruth Jr. was now a part of the Baltimore Orioles. Ruth was an amazing pitcher but he was also an amazing hitter as well and could easily give himself help while he was pitching with one swing of the bat.
