I am going to be talking about Babe Ruth, my MVP. Babe Ruth was born on 6 February 1895, in Pigtown in Baltimore City. Babe Ruth’s father’s name was George Herman Ruth Sr, and he grew up in Maryland. Ruth’s mother’s name was Katherine Schamberger, and she grew up in Maryland too. Ruth’s parents were both of German ancestry. When Babe Ruth was seven years old, he joined his first-ever baseball program. His progress started off slow, but then began to skyrocket the more he played the sport year after year after year. In 1914, when Babe Ruth was only 19 when he got signed as a pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles. In his first-ever major league baseball game, he pitched 7 strong innings to beat the Cleveland Indians 4-3. Babe Ruth got his first paychecks for only $80,000 which is not much compared to players today.

Another interesting thing about Babe Ruth is that he never wore underwear in the summer or the winter, he also had no underwear on while he was pitching. Babe Ruth had a 94-46, with a 2.28 ERA. After one of Babe Ruth’s best games, he served jail time for reckless driving while leaving the parking lot. Babe Ruth was the king of baseball through the 1920s to the 1930s, for his amazing pitching and batting skills. He was so amazing that Babe Ruth’s batting average was 0.342, which is actually incredible because the normal batting average is 0.250 in the MLB. 33% of the time, Babe Ruth hit a home run every 3 at-bats in one season.
