“To understand him you had to understand this: he was not human” Babe Ruth is one of the most well-known baseball players of all time. His home runs and amazing catches shaped him for who he is. Although his childhood began in poverty and he was a troubled kid he had an amazing talent, which led him to play for many of different major league baseball teams. And he became the most famous man of baseball.
George Herman Ruth Jr. was born into the family of eight children, on February 6, 1895, in Baltimore, Maryland. Once he had gone to the Yankees he has helped them win four World Series titles in the next 15 seasons. (Biography.com staff) He became the greatest hitter in baseball. He had hit 54 home runs in his first year with the Yankees. (Radar, Benjamin G.) He had made a mark in less than 10 seasons he became baseballs all-time home run leader. In his second season, he has hit 59 home runs, breaking his own record. A record that stood for 3 years was that in 1927 he hit 60 home runs in a season’s time. They were the heart of the Yankees in 1927 and were murder’s row. He is famous for his “called the shot” one time he was being heckled by the cub’s bench. He never got to manage a major league team, which was one of his dreams. But he eventually became the coach for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He made his last appearance at the Yankees stadium on June 13, 1948, at the stadium to celebrate the buildings the 25th anniversary.
