Managing a workforce with different cultures, ethics, and also generational differences. The four generations of American works Tradition, Baby Boom, Generation X and Generation Y. The traditional generations are the oldest generation in the workforce this includes people born before 1945.This generation is molded by events such as the great depression and the World War 2 among many other events. They have great respect for authority, their word was a bond. They are known as the loyal and hardworking generation.

So how do you manage so many generations? You first need to identify with whether they are they hands on or are they a must be taught and shown what needs to done. I say a good manager’s work will show by how the employees treat them. As I researched for this paper I couldn’t help but think back over the years and all the people I’ve worked with how the younger kids seem to think that life gets handed to them. As a manager you have to think of a way to motivate them to work hard and show up on time. One thing I seen employers doing more frequently is a point system you get to many points you lose your job. I am against that you can lose an employee who’s worked for you fifteen years over a death or mayor Sergey on a loved one. In my opinion the best mangers have good communication with each generation. We live in a world full of people waiting on your job are you willing to show me why I should pick and keep you as an employee?

In my research I found that people like to know that the company they’re employed for do reviews and give them feedback and that’s when they have the opportunity to talk about pay why am I making this much.
