based on the original novel by Ann M. Martin. It's a book about four pre teenagers named Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia and Stacy who are best friends and founding members of The Baby-sitters Club. The first book of the Baby-sitters Club series is called Kristy’s Great Idea. Kristy is average girl who babysits for extra cash along with her other friends Claudia and Mary Anne. It occurs to her one night when Kristy's mother is looking for a sitter for Kristy’s younger brother David michael that she should start a babysitters club with her friends, so parents can call one number and have access to all members of the babysitters club. They decided that the official place to have meetings is Claudia’s room because she has a phone. Finally they advertise by handing out posters to all parents in the neighborhood and put their add in the News paper. Once the club got started they decided to write all experiences they have with the children to help other members in case they have to babysit those kids. But as any teen they all have issues with their parents. For instance Kristy’s mother is divorced and after awhile they all were happy and got used to being a divorced family. But once Kristy's Mother announces at dinner that she would consider getting married her boyfriend Watson Kristy gets very upset. But Kristy begins to like Watson after babysitting for his kids and getting to know him a little better. Mary Ann on the other hand has to struggle with her overprotective dad to spend money she earned by babysitting and being able to do simple things such as painting her nails. Claudia is having difficulty trying to improve her grades and telling her parents that she in not her genius older sister Janine. Finally Stacy is having trouble fitting in with everyone else due to the fact she has diabetes and she doesn't want to ruin her friendship with the other members of the babysitting
