Archaeological evidence and historians all now confirm that the smaller cultures and kingdoms of Canaan were affected politically and religiously by the older and larger civilizations and empires of Egypt, Babylonia, Assyria and Persia. First the Egyptians, for 350 years, were the dominate influence in Canaan followed by the Assyrians, for 300 years, then the Babylonians, for 77 years, and finally the Persians, for 200 years. Currently, there are many pieces of archaeological evidence such as the Merenpetah Stele, Mesha Stone, the Kurkh Monoliths, Tel Dan Stele, Lachish Reliefs and Azekah Inscription that supports the existence of the Kingdom of Israel and the Kingdom of Judah, but only after 1200BC. With no real historical past of their own the biblical authors used Mesopotamia mythologies such as the Enuma Elish, Tale of Adapa, Epic of Gilgamesh, Epic of Atrahasis, Eridu Genesis, Enki and Ninhursag - A Sumerian Paradise to explain the creation of the Earth and all forms of life. Next, parts of Egyptian history, such as the nomadic Shasu became slaves and were used in the construction of cities, the Hyksos migrated into Egypt, then later chased out by a Pharaoh and the Habiru who tried to conquer Canaan were all used to describe the pre-history of the Israelites. During the translating the Hebrew Old Testament into the Septuagint Text the Greeks used native Hebrew rabbis to translate the Hebrew and Syriac texts into the Greek language. However, now after reading the English translation of the Greek Septuagint, the English translation of the Latin Vulgate and the King James Version it is obvious that during the Latin and English translations much of the references and influences of the Sumerians, Egyptians, Akkadians, Assyrians, Babylonians and Canaanites were written out of the Old Testament in order to comply with the religious authorities of the
