The Maltese Falcon was a detective novel written by Dashiell Hammett in 1929. It takes place in foggy San Francisco in the late 1920’s. Its eerie description is the perfect setting for a detective solving a crime, with murder and mayhem. In this novel Dashiell brings to life several different characters, each with their own traits.
Everyone is dirty, unclean, and in tatters however the group is focused on making the best final product. The colors in the second act in comparison to the first are lively and bright. They give a new sense of life to the group in direct contrasts to the first where everything is dark matching the mood. The final act gives a new and royal ambiance to the play. This is clear and drastic time shift in the future.
Act 2 scene 2: This scene jumped back to act 1 scene 7 then to act 2 scene 1. After act 2 scene 1, they went back to act 2 scene 2. Then they took a little piece of act 2 scene 3 and went back to act 2 scene 2.

Also, I will discuss the development and times of the Elizabethan theatre with the Elizabethan ideal of the core and how Shakespeare was influential in that period. Lastly I will reflect on the elements of Macbeth as a genre to illustrate my research findings.
