Bancroft was one of the first private schools in the United States for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. One woman’s dream in the 1880’s help changed the lives of many. Bancroft has evolved greatly since then while continuing to meet the needs of children and adults with various challenges and their families. Bancroft’s mission provides opportunities to children and adults with diverse challenges to maximize their full level of independence. We currently specialize in many programs that assist children with autism, as well as other mental illnesses and disabilities. As a result of our goal to develop in the health care and technology we are able to continue helping those with developed brain injuries and neurological conditions by providing rehabilitation services, residential rehabilitation, day programs and schools. There will be an immediate corporation reconstruction within the company due to the low census, it is fiscally sound that we make cuts throughout the whole organization to continue to be financially stable. Our organization has decided that 1,500 employees will be laid off this upcoming months ahead.
