According the American Library Association, over 11,300 books have been challenged since the origin of banned books began 33 years ago. These books are most often challenged by parents rather than organizations, teachers or religious groups and the majority of books banned are within schools and their libraries. The Giver has been a banned/challenged book. What that means is that someone at one point had a attempt to remove the novel from a library, classroom or city, by that restricting the access to reading this book to others around.

Censoring Books In Public Schools Is Necessary To Protect The Children Books have been censored for decades, mostly for secular and religious reasons. With the invention of the printing press in 1450, it became harder to eliminate offensive books, however a study conducted at the American Library Association (ALA), says that most books have been challenged by parents followed by patrons, a board or administration, librarians or teachers, political and religious groups, and the government. The same study showed that “sexually explicit content, offensive language, and "unsuited to any age group" are the top three reasons cited for requesting a book to be removed” (“Banned Books”). Books in public schools should continue to be censored for the protection of children and the improvement of society.
Well, this is what I think about banning books whatever Harry Potter books and other Witch and Wizard books and movie. I think it's the parent's fault and not the kids or anyone else. I the parent does not want the kids then do not let them read or watch the movie. It Is not anyone else's choose if he kid should read them type of books. It's not like I can make your child didn't read the books.

Certain books should be banned because they could be inappropriate for students. “Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy” (Orwell 53). This quote means every human is an enemy of animals which makes this quote important because if young students read this they might believe they are actually enemies of animals. This connects to banned books because young students might believe stories like this one and students will start believing things that are not actually true.
Some parents would never even talk to their kids about what some of these topics are and it is wrong. Kids not only need to grow up but need the freedom to read to be able to grow and learn. Therefore most kids should have the right to read the books of their choosing and books should not be banned. Children should have the freedom to read whatever books they want. Children should not have their books taken away because another parent doesn’t like the book or it is not suitable for one of their own children.
