The short tragedy, “Macbeth” by Willian Shakespeare, is a great literature to read about. Macbeth was great Scottish general but was kills Duncan, the king of Scotland, and becomes king himself. In this book, we can see what greed brings to Macbeth and Banquo. Greed makes a national hero lost their own mind and begins to destroy everyone who stands in their way. Macbeth even kills banquo, his best friend, and becomes a bad king of Scotland. In today’s world, wealth and power symbolizes success but without ambition, it is difficult to succeed. Ambition is one part of success, but there are some people who would even sacrifice other people’s live for their ambition, and Macbeth is an example of that.
Macbeth is a true hero admired by almost everybody. He is a brave and competent fighter who has won many battles. Even the king Duncan says that, “The sin of my ingratitude even now was heavy on me. Thou art so far before that swiftest wing of recompense in slow to overtake thee.” We can clearly see that, at the time, the king Duncan raised him above all the others, gave him great wealth and made him the first man in his kingdom. Macbeth is very ambitious man and his ambition grows stronger after the meets three witches. They prediction brings him joy and expectation, but it plants a seed and destroy Macbeth’s mind. Marduff or Banquo is a real hero at that time. Especially Macbeth got worried about Banquo will become a king, and he came up with evil ideal to murder Banquo, also Lady Macbeth persuaded him to following the plan. Because too much greedy, he agreed his wife. When Macbeth killed the Banquo, he feels scared and nervous. But I think that Macbeth has a blind ambition, he is very greedy, because he was worried banquo’s son may a king instead of himself. Marduff was a good person, he obeyed her
