Barack Obama has made history in the United States of America. Mr. Obama is the first African American president in the history of our nation. Even though many american did not like the end vot of 2008 Mr. Obama is very qualified for the president of the United States of America. Mr. Obama is a very diverse president and he is one of the few to help the minority class. Mr. Obama is a very unique person in many ways.

Barack Hussein Obama II was born on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. His mother, Ann Dunham, was born on an Army base in Wichita, Kansas, during World War II. Mr. Obama's father, Barack Obama Sr., was born of Luo ethnicity in Nyanza Province, Kenya. Mr. Obama Sr. grew up herding goats in Africa and, eventually earned …show more content…

Obama did not have a relationship with his father. When his son was still an infant, Mr. Obama Sr. relocated to Massachusetts to attend Harvard University and pursue a Ph.D. Mr. Obama's parents officially separated several months later and ultimately divorced in March 1964, when Mr. Obama was two years old. In 1981, tragedy struck Mr. Obama Sr. when he lost both of his legs in a serious car accident. In 1982, Mr.Obama Sr. was involved in yet another car accident while traveling in Nairobi, this time the crash was fatal. Obama Sr. died on November 24, 1982, when Obama was 21 years old. Following in the well-established tradition of American Presidents, he visited a house of worship in the United States and met with congregants.
But this visit was also extraordinary. This was the President’s first visit to an American mosque – the Islamic Society of Baltimore – a historic occasion. For the Muslim Americans in attendance and those around the country, it was confirmation of the fact that we are, as the President has stated repeatedly, an integral part of the fabric of the United States since its founding.
In addition to his election, the other highlight of 2004 for Obama was his wildly successful keynote address at the Democratic National Convention. "There's not a liberal America and a conservative America," he declared. "There's a United States of America. There's not a black American and white America and Latino America and Asian America. There's a United States of America."
