Barack Obama was born on August 4, 1961,in Hawaii. His parents met when they were in college.With his

mother being white and his father being black, things changed as he grew up. His parents married on February

2, 1961. A little after they married and son was born, Obama’s father continued his education at The University

of Hawaii. As a result of that Obama’s mother ( Ann Dunham ) took her child with her to Seattle, Washington,

where she was then taking classes. She returned with her son to Honolulu and continued her education there.

During her first year back she met Lolo Soetoro, they later married on March 15,1965. That did not quite work

Elementary School from 1966-1967.To fast forward a little in around 1971 Obama moved back to Hawaii to live with

his grandparents. He now was starting 5th in a school called Punahou. Obama as his grandparents would say was a “ a

good kid” . But that changed a little bit after December of 1971. His father came to visit him for a month , it was the last

time he saw or heard from his father. So what that being a hard time for him his grades started to drop. That was not

only reason moving a lot really affected him. Good thing is that that only last for a while ,until he finally started to pick

them back up.

While still living with his grandparents he enrolled in the in the Punahou for basketball to get the thoughts of

his father of his mind. It continued to be a struggle but wasn’t as big. About ten years later Obama was hit with

bad news. His father had lost both of his legs in a accident. He then was only able to move around by a

wheelchair. With that being said he lost his job. In 1982 November 24, he died from another accident. Obama

Graduated in 1983 with a political science degree. He moved to Chicago in 1985. Motivation played a big

role in his life. Not growing up with a father was hard, but he made it through.

Obama entered Harvard Law school in 1988. He then joined as a research assistant. Following is dream of

making a difference to people and his community. That same year he joined the Chicago law firm. Not long after that he

met Michelle Robinson also known now as Michelle Obama. He was elected as “ the first African American “ editor of

Harvard Law Review. Not very long after that he wanted to move back to Chicago and practice to be a civil rights

lawyer. After Law school that’s what he did . He was doing be things with his life pushing through and staying

motivated. Obama started to teach part-time constitutional law from 1992 to 2004.

Not only did that happen him, and Michelle and Obama got married on October 3, 1992. They moved to

Kenwood (South side of Chicago). Several years later they welcomed their to daughters. Malia who was born 1998,

and Sasha who was born 2001. Him having two daughters he promised them that he would not leave them like his
