Barbara Merritt, is a friend and former colleague, I have known for approximately fourteen years. During this time, she has worked as a first through fifth- grade teacher.
As a teacher, she has numerous tasks and responsibilities to perform. She prepares lesson materials, equipment and demonstrations, as well as presents subject matter to students using lectures, discussions as well as role-playing methods. Barbara, also must observe and record relevant data to assess student progress, participate in teacher-parent conferences regarding students’ progress, enforce policies and rules governing students, instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials, to prevent injuries and damage, as well as maintain laptops. …show more content…

Ms. Merritt demonstrates numerous strengths that I believe will support her as an effective teacher. She is a highly dedicated employee who can work under extreme pressure and tight deadlines with calmness and composure. She can focus on tasks and follow through diligently until complete. Her level of integrity is beyond reproach. Working as a teacher, she understands how important it is to respect the confidentiality of her students and parents, an attribute that I am sure will be helpful when working with various families.
Barbara is always punctual and has excellent computer, writing, and verbal communication skills. Both students, parents and colleagues respect her and, she is known for her strong leadership skills.
