“Photography is the only language that can be understood anywhere in the world.” – Bruno Barbey. Photography has been around since the 1800’s (National Geographic Photography 202). The basic tools of photography would be a DSLR camera or any camera that one can adjust the settings: ISO, shutter speed, and aperture. Other objects involved would include a tripod, depending on the type of photography that is being shot, and different lens types. The basics that one needs to know when learning photography would be exposure, aperture, and ISO. Aperture is a small set of blades in the lens that allows a person to control the amount of light that can pass through. This started with the camera phone which came out in 2004. In 2005, people had the ability to share photos on social media like Facebook and Instagram. The advancement in the photography world hit so many citizens when the last roll of Kodachrome, disposable camera film, was finally discontinued in 2010. (National Geographic Complete Photography 224-228) Photography has evolved from rock and stone to camera phones throughout the past two hundred years (National Geographic Complete Photography 202-228).
