However, when their freedom is infringed, tactics are devised to gain these rights. The Algerian War of Independence depicts the plight of the citizens in the hands of the brutal French government. This war is highlighted in the film Battle of Algiers (1966) directed by Gillo Pontecorvo. The military aspect of the film stands out since the tactics involved involve meticulous planning and execution. There is need to identify the culprits as well as the means of solving the rebel resistance according to the General.
