The Battle of Britain had taken place over the skies of Great Britain in the summer of 1940. Being part of the Allied forces fighting against Nazi Germany ruled by the dictator Adolf Hitler, Great Britain had to face a serious obstacle. The German’s successful blitzkrieg tactics over the continental Europe from 1939 to 1940 stunned the Allied forces, which contributed to their early victories during the initial part of the war. The Nazi Germany soon defeated and occupied much of France in 1940, Britain’s only allies in Europe. Final Test History of Rock & Roll 1. When I think about Keith Richards' claim that just ten percent of rock and roll is "good," I find myself somewhat agreeing. While the amount may vary based on personal preference and interpretation, it is evident that a large chunk of the genre comprises substandard or forgettable content. However, I believe that the proportion of "good" music in Rock & Roll is more than 10%, maybe closer to 20% or 30%.

During the reign of the Conservative government, led by Margaret Thatcher, England, especially places in the north, went through some very hard times. Thatcher’s government created a life of poverty, crime, and general suffering, especially for the youth of that time. This made young people want to voice their opinions, and tell the general public what life was actually like for them. People were trapped by Thatcher, and most grew up using drugs, causing crime, and having nothing good to do with their lives. After the Conservatives were booted out of government, and the Labour party took over, things got better, and the Labour party really backed Britpop, since it made them look cool and relevant.
