Battle of the Speeches Julius Caesar, there is a lot of material going on between the two of the main characters, Brutus and Mark Antony. Brutus’ speech was very strong but one may say Antony won the people of Rome over. Brutus was honest and Antony was very strong in what he did and said. Whenever people would speak in Rome they were very attentive and agreed with whatever was said. Brutus spoke to all the people in Rome. He says, “If then that friend demand why Brutus rose against Caesar, this is my answer; Not that I loved Caesar, but that I loved Rome more.” One might say that Brutus believed if Caesar stayed the ruler in command it would be the end of the people’s freedom.
