The Battle of Yorktown Virginia 1781, General Cornwallis of the British fleet, stationed his troops at Yorktown, awaiting the assistance of reinforcements. Meanwhile, General George Washington marched the American Military, from New York to Yorktown. French Admiral De Grasse encountered the British reinforcements, assigned to relieve General Cornwallis, and defeated them. These actions were unknown to Washington and Cornwallis himself, and to Cornwallis his reinforcements were late on arrival. October 17th, General Washington and the French Admiral De Grasse, gave the order for their troops to attack Yorktown.

The Battle of Princeton takes place in January 3 1777, shortly after the Battle of Trenton. The Battle of Princeton was spurred on by the win at Trenton. After winning the Battle of Trenton, George Washington and his men move toward Princeton, New Jersey. The first was the Battle of Lake Erie on September 10, 1813 under the command of Oliver Hazard Perry five schooners, three brigs and a sloop captured and defeated two ships, two schooners, a brig and a sloop of the Royal Navy at Put-in-Bay in Lake Erie off the coast of Ohio. Battle after battle between the Americans and British soldiers. The Americans have been having a hard time fighting with the British because of lack of supplies. The colonists were losing hope for defeating the British until one day in October of 1777 when the Battle of Saratoga changed it all.
The forces that led Americans to declare war on Britain in 1812 were impressment of american sailors, problems with the natives, and the War Hawks. Impressment is the kidnapping American Sailors and forcing them to serve in the British Navy. Although the problems with the natives were obviously the americans’ fault, the settlers blamed the British for supplying them weapons and inciting them to attack. Then there are these western politicians who wanted war so that they can gain the Canadian territory. Americans didn’t declare war on just these three causes, but they were the main causes that pushed for this war.
