You can improve a person’s life for six more months, or you can improve the entire life of a child. Many governors are makes huge cuts to education, and sacrificing children’s education with it. Hawaii has cut the number of days in a school year, and Texas is cutting education financing by 13.5 percent. You should not reduce a child’s time in the classroom, or sacrifice their resources just to save money to spend elsewhere.
This investigation will examine the question: “To what extent did the launch of Sputnik 1 positively impact the education in the United States between 1957 and 1975?” Sources such as historical texts, books, online journal articles, and governmental addresses will be used in the process of this investigation to examine the positive impact of Sputnik 1 on American education. Source A is a primary source—a discussion on education from Vice President Richard Nixon, chosen to examine the government reaction to the launch of Sputnik 1. Source B is a secondary source—a book on the 1960s, chosen for examining the public reaction to Sputnik 1 and educational reform after the launching of Sputnik 1.
Many people in America believe that education systems seem to be declining rather than improving. One of the solutions offered to combat the declining quality of education is year-round schooling; thereby allowing students to go to school for a shorter period of time in a year and have longer breaks between periods throughout the year as opposed to the more common type in which there are ten months of schooling and then a two-month summer break. I believe that all students should have a break where they can take the necessary amount of time allotted to relieve themselves from the stress of a busy schedule. Public schools should not have year-round schedules because they are ineffective, would lower student’s grades, and result in less time for students to relax and participate in extracurricular activities. Year-round schooling is a relic of the past, and it did not yield favorable results.
Also, there needs to be a major education reform budgetwise. Public schools should be abolished and the government should just give people a certain amount of money and they can choose which school to use it on. Education should be left to the private sector because they do it best. Taxpayers who pay to go to private schools should not have to pay for public
Education is the key to a brand new car. But the government crashed that car. They have no right to take away our education. The president brought us common core. This is a lot harder than regular math.

Over the past twenty years, year-round schooling has grown by 544%, now around 10% of kids go to schools where there is year-round schooling (Statistic Brain). When students hear about year-round schooling, they automatically think about the summer break and that they won’t have that. They often forget about the many benefits that year-round schooling offers. There are plenty of reasons year-round schooling is better, it can solve overcrowding, the loss of information over summer break, better academic achievement during the school year, and many more. The school system was designed over a 100 years ago when parents needed their kids to work the fields in the summer.
To understand this issue better we need to look at some statistics. We spend nearly 78 days away from school not including weekends this includes: Summer vacation, Winter break, Thanksgiving, and Spring break(“Sizes”). If we spent all of our time in school that would increase students’, involvement and help feed many children in need. Year-Round
Students shouldn't have to pay for college, should they? No they shouldn't. Many smart kids who are more likely to succeed have little money and cannot afford college. More kids would go to college, also students would have more freedom to choose what they really wanted to do.
On the other hand, there were and still are many who are oppose to it. They claim that making kids go to school for a certain portion of their lives is unconstitutional. In the end, though, there are multiple laws in place that set the guidelines for the attendance of people in school. Although there are many people who feel they should decide whether their kid gets an education I believe it is important for students to attend school-whether or not they feel they will sue the information it will give them the skills to grow as a person
I think schools should last all year long making three things very helpful for students. First, I thing school should last all year long teachers should give students writing suggestions for the next year. For example before some schools did not have any activities or future vision or development are schools. Second, I think school should give gifts to students that go to school all year long. There are students that can give gifts honoring.
Adults might accuse us of wanting shorter school days because we are being childish. Society will tell us we are asking for the impossible, but it's already happening. Finland has been responding to students; need with amazing results. They have shorter schooling days; they begin school when they are seven and graduate at sixteen. Compared to other schools, tests and homework are basically nonexistent.
It is essential that younger generations receive a quality education. Children all over the United States of America are being deprived of their schooling. Not all schools receive equal funding. Kids who grow up in less wealthy areas are less likely to receive a good education. Children are being set up for failure.
