It was completely pitch black with the huge big trees looming over Carter. The only way he could see is from the full moon lying right above his head. It was the time that everybody was chattering about. The solo hike. Carter was scared to death. Just a few more seconds and the teacher would let Carter go be all by himself. Carter wanted to back out, but didn’t want his friends, especially Evan, the biggest bully in school to pick on him for the rest of the year. It was now Carter’s turn.

“It’s your turn bud, good luck!” the teacher chimed in.

“Then let’s go.” Ty and Carter picked up the bobcat and threw him in the Kishwaukee River where he would eventually drown to death. Even though the bobcat was dead, they still had to deal with the Bear and the Tiger. The tiger came charging, but Carter and Ty ducked where Zach came and threw a tomahawk at the tiger where he would die. So all that was left was the Bear. Zach, Carter, and Ty each got a tomahawk and threw it at the bear. The bear dodged Carter’s, but Ty and Zach’s tomahawks hit him. Ty and his friends won, they saved the day!

“Back off Loser,” Ty growled in his angry voice to the bear. All of the kids started scrambling around Ty and asking for his autograph.

“Ok Ok,” Ty hollered. “But hold on, let me go find Carter.” Ty walked over to Carter and called him over.

“Are you okay?” Ty asked Carter.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks man! How will I ever repay you?”

“Oh no biggy,” claimed Ty. The group all surrounded Ty as they walked back to the Atwood Center.

When they arrived back at the campfire, everybody was asking him about the experience.

“How did you do that?” asked Evan

“I would never be able to be that brave,” blurted
