I am a music enthusiast and I think that the Beatles are one of the most influential band in the 20th century. If The Beatles had not existed, the modern music would have been different.

The Beatles were formed in Liverpool during the 1960s. In this decade the society and the culture was changing and the Beatles had a rebellious image that the English youth liked. But later, they reached the biggest musical success of modern history in the world, in just a few years. Many social movements would have not done if The Beatles had not played songs against the war. They became in the most important influence in the sixties, both in music and in society.

The Beatles phenomenon was called The Beatlemania and this lasted little more than three years, more than the time that fashions usually last. In this time, they marked the trends of the fashion and were an example to follow for their image. When they broke up in 1970, all four members followed their own solo careers. They continued to have numerous successes, both outside and inside the music industry, with solidarity acts or becoming a famous peace activist. If John Lennon had not been murdered, he would probably have become an important political figure.

To summarize, the Beatles changed pop music as we know it now. They are still an important influence of modern bands and they are recognized as the most successful group in the history of pop
