What type of education is needed, how long does training take, what the job in the field looks like, how long does a certification last, and what does the salary look like? These are the questions someone might ask if they were to look into the field to be a behavioral technician. The type of training and education needed to become a behavioral technician can take 2-3 days and involves multiple different types of training. To just be a behavior technician there is no need for a diploma higher than a high school degree. but if someone wanted to be more than just a behavioral technician they would need some sort of college education. What are the different ways and parts of the training “Aspiring RBTs have several options for completing this training. Some behavior technicians get hired by an agency without having the credential but undergo qualifying training on-the-job that makes them eligible to complete the certification” (Degreequery). It's not needed to first take the training to become a RBT (Registered Behavioral Technician) but working in the field is also considered training.“The RBT Exam, on the other hand, is a multiple-choice test administered via computer that evaluates the test-takers[‘] knowledge of each content area covered in the training program. The top ten percent in the field brought in more than $56,380 per year in 2021’ (ABA). In some fields with a little bit different training some RBTs can make almost double what the average salary of a normal RBT is.
