When I began my journey in search for a secondary education that would fulfill my desires I did not know where to begin, but I did know one thing: I wanted to get out of state. I was ignorant and believed that I was too good for the state from which I was raised in; I wanted to leave everything behind and see what the world had to offer. I kept this mindset for months upon months until my worrying parents finally managed to coax me into looking within Illinois for my education--it is at this point where I would stumble upon Illinois State University. I had heard multiple friends express their interest in ISU many of whom would call dub it their dream school. By researching ISU further, all of my misconceptions about in-state schools were dispelled.
Have you ever been stuck in a position where you don’t have a clue on what you want your future career to be? Well, it definitely happened to me. I was influenced by many people to choose a career similar to theirs. I observed the lives of friends and family that were business, accounting, engineering, teaching, and psychology majors, but none caught my attention. It was then that my mother shared numerous stories about her days as an OB nurse and how that had made her into the mother that she is.
There are many jobs and fields in the healthcare career. Some people may want to be a Oncologist, Gynecologist, Neurosurgeon, Registered Nurse, or a Certified Nursing Assistant. Every person has a different passion and reason they want to be what they want to be. While some people may want to work as a doctor in trauma, I want to become a nurse practitioner and work in some type of pediatric field. Yet, becoming a nurse practitioner is not that simple.
I am attending Colorado Christian University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I started my medical career as a Combat Medic in the US Army. Since then I have become a Registered Medical Assistant and a Registered Phlebotomy Technician. I now work in a dialysis clinic and soon will be a Certified Dialysis Technician too. I decided to become a nurse because I feel I am capable of achiving it.
I love my job because I know I am helping them; I am making their lives easier. The main reason why I want to go into nursing is because

Nurse practitioners have the ability to treat certain illnesses without the help of a doctor, unlike other nurses. That alone is pretty interesting, moreover, NPs want to be NPs they don’t want to be anything else their dedicated to this career and helping people. Therefore, researching this career was something to look forward to, It is a great job and has many opportunities.
Are you interested in being a Registered Nurse? To become a Registered Nurse also known as RN it requires education, skills, and interest. For instance, an RN must be able to detect changes in symptoms, health, or pain. Furthermore, a Registered Nurse should have critical thinking skills, communication skills, and organization skills. Anyways, three colleges in San Diego are San Diego State University, School of Nursing, and San Diego City college.
I am currently an employee of Wintersong Nursing Village in Knox, Indiana. My mother is a registered nurse and she also works in assisted care facilities all across my state. Since I was a little girl, my mother would always take me to work with her and teach me that the elderly deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. Because of my passion for assisting and and talking to the elderly, I have decided to pursue a career in Speech Language Pathology and work permanently in a long term care facility. I know that aging matters because elderly people are wise, they're thankful and they're caring, and everyone ages.
Growing up my mom only had a part time job, my dad was the sole provider for my family. As my siblings and I grew older and became more independent, my mom felt as though she was no longer needed as much. So she set out to achieve her dreams, becoming a nurse. My mom went back to college for her prerequisites for the nursing program, I watched her struggle through all her classes, her juggling a part time job, being a mom, and pulling my dad through a dark time.
I have always set my mind to everything I’ve wanted to achieve. At times, I found that things were difficult, but I never gave up and always tried harder. In college, I plan to major in nursing and after graduation I would like to head to straight into the nursing field and fulfil every goal I set for myself from that point on. As a child, I was always interested in helping others and making them feel better.
I believe a job as a certified nurse assistant will give me a better insight while working beside nurses and observe what set of skills nurses use. My strengths that best suit my personality and this program are determination, effort, caring, critical thinker, discipline, and enthusiastic. These qualities would reflect on a nurse and would make caring for the patient easier. I believe that I belong in the nursing field, because ever since I was a child, I always wanted to make a positive influence in people's lives.
I am very dedicated to help. I want to help everyone. I will be honored to become a Nurse Aid and be everything I can be in the medical field. I will offer my services when needed and do as much as possible. Everything I have learned is pushing me to exceed my goals.
For the majority of people, pursuing a career in the medical field is a career which should be avoided at all costs. Whether this profession is a surgeon, a nurse, or a psychiatrist, the long hours of study and work (which are necessary for these occupations), are not in most people’s definition of a “fun job.” In addition, after the long years of study come to an end, the most feared moments arise, the time to pay student loans. Nevertheless, none of these obstacles intimidated Juan Delgado in order to pursue his dream as a healthcare professional, more importantly, to help our community. Delgado, the oldest of two, was born on December 3rd,1991.
As a child, I dreamed of acquiring a career in Nursing. I was always fascinated by the amount of respect that nurses received during my doctor visits throughout my childhood. There are many reasons why I chose to major in Nursing such as the ability to take care of someone, the money and benefits that the career offered, as well as job stability and flexibility. On of my main reasons for pursing Nursing is the ability to care for someone other than myself.
