Becoming An Athlete: A Personal Analysis

Throughout the course of my life I developed a passion for sports. As a kid, it was a way to have fun, make friends, and pass the time. As I grew up playing basketball and baseball, I began to see the game for more than just fun. Participating in sports has allowed me to developed leadership and time management skills, and shaped me into the person I am today. When I step out on the baseball field or on the basketball court with my team, I feel a sense of pride knowing that i’m not going into war alone. I have my brothers by my side. There are underclassmen and younger kids in my community that look up to me for guidance and advice on how to make their game better. I’ve seen some of these younger kids try to imitate some of my moves on the court or on the field because they see me as a leader and that is an empowering feeling. Developing traits as a leader is most definitely a key element in life. When you become a leader you learn to take responsibilities for your actions and you have to beware of that because there are people looking up to you. You are the example, you need to be a good one.Leadership is important because you have to make decisions that best fit a situation and accurately devise a plan and an action to take on a particular task. With the traits I have developed in sports I will be able to successfully lead an event or a project and be able to bring something to the table. I would also consider myself to be a good leader because I am understanding of others’ opinions and can make decisions when necessary I am also able to constructively criticize others to help improve their performance. My love for Athletics has made me who I am . Because of my experience in sports I am a confident leader and an unselfish team worker. Playing sports allowed me to obtain positive traits that will only help me succeed in life, school, and in the work
