Ludwig van Beethoven is considered the key figure of the Western classical music in a period between classicism and romanticism. Beethoven still remains one of the most performed and revered composers in the world. An unsurpassed master of sonatas, he nonetheless wrote in all the musical genres that existed in that time, including opera, ballet, music for dramatic plays, choral composition and so on. Ludwig was born in 1770 and his childhood, spent in Bonn, can be called really difficult. Ludwig's father was a rude and despotic person who, noticing his son's musical talent, decided to use it for personal purposes, forcing little Ludwig to play the harpsichord day by day. So, as a result, already at the age of eight, Beethoven earned his first money, playing in small public concerts, and by the age of twelve, the boy was freely playing the violin and organ.
