Music Critique Symphony No. 3 in E flat Major; Eroica Op. 55 is written by notable composer, Ludwig van Beethoven. The Musikverein de Viena orchestra performed the symphony at Wiener Philharmoniker in Viena, conducted by Christian Thielemann. The piece was originally called Symphony Bonaparte because Beethoven was wrote it in honor of Napoleon Bonaparte (Smith, n.d.). When he was young, Ludwig van Beethoven was a supporter of the French Revolution (1789-1799). He was also an admirer of Napoleon Bonaparte, who spread the ideas of freedom through the establishment of laws and wars throughout Europe. He and Les Siècles Orchestra presented The Rite of Spring that was originally written by Igor Stravinsky. The Rite of Spring comes from the imagination of Stravinsky about paganism in Russia (Gharaibeh, 1996). The Rite of Spring shows how Stravinsky evolved musically from nationalist to modern. Meanwhile, the rite of spring represents about the ancient ritual of Russian society, where a girl had to be sacrificed as a scapegoat for her group. This piece is divided into two parts: The Adoration of the Earth and The Sacrifice (Gharaibeh, 1996). The style of the piece is similar to the Eroica by Beethoven; the structure of the melody remains the same through its entirety. In this piece, Stravinsky uses a group of irregular pattern of accents and filled with ostinato patterns that make the piece sound bizarre and confusing (Gharaibeh, 1996). For example, each rhythm on the pattern appears in contrast: sometimes it is slow or it is aggressive. The texture of the melody continuously builds momentum and makes the layer of melodic fragments thicker .The use of complex rhythms, accents, and dissonant harmonies in this piece make the sound full of anxiety and
