The first word that comes to mind when I think of a paramedic is demanding. Why? In a world where anything can happen at any given time, its a paramedic's job to asses that issue as safe and quickly as possible. Not only is it demanding, it can also be very stressful. You have to deal with the unknown, and that can sometimes be scary. A paramedic receives the call that someone is hurt and within an instant, they're on the road, ready to take action. Knowing only minor details, they cant fully asses the situation until they're present at the scene. They wont know if that person is awake or not, whether they're calm or crazy, they just act and trust that their training will kick in to overcome the high stress that is present. One would say its too much work, thankfully there are those out there to take the challenge.

For one to become a paramedic, it would require you to undergo long hours of training and certifications. At first, you would start off as and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). You could be doing anything from using field equipment, handling emergencies and dealing with trauma and cardiac emergencies. My short term goals consist of obtaining an associate's in Health Science, I feel that if I'm able to get that out of the way first, ill have more time to focus on my lesser qualities. Another short term goal is to become a basic EMT. I like helping people, and I like testing myself with challenges and I know that this job will do that for me. My long term goal is to become a paramedic. Because I've spent time looking at this job, reading whats required and how I go about becoming one, I know that its the right job for me. Doing so, I know I've set myself up for success, as long as I stay true and continue to put in the work, I can reach that long term
