Adams compares “training your cat to do your taxes” to B students in classrooms to show the readers the concept that sometimes students are not capable to do well in a class, and the time they spend in this class could be allocated better. To further his claim Adams uses himself as an example to show his readers that learning things that benefit him proved him well.
