Why is being on time in the military important? Being on time in the military is important because of several reasons. As a soldier I feel I am held to a higher standard. I am an example of my country and I want those around me to see the pride and honor I have for the career I have chosen. Not only am I an example of my country but I am an example to those who come after me and I need to set a high standard for them to keep our military superior to those who come against us. Being punctual many times is the very first impression that you make when meeting someone for the first time. Not only does it make you look professional, trustworthy, and diligent but it is a good reflection on those who are in command above you. We are coming up for our deployment rotation and while we are deployed being late could seriously hurt us or stress our Chain of Command out because they may think one of us are lost or worse dead. Accountability in the military is huge. The military is all about being at the right place, at the right time, and in the right uniform. I was late for accountability formation and that is the most important formation of the day. I did not report so that means no one knew where I was at, even though I was safe and in my room, no one knew where I was and no one knew if I was safe or not. Luckily that I was safe and that my phone just messed up and did not wake me up, but that is not always the case. In the military we depend on each other to be on time and do our part to complete the mission each day. I have been tasked out to be a soldier 's driver for his pre operation and surgery, if I was late waking up then I could have possibly made him late to his pre operation appointment and then that could have meant he would have missed out on his surgery, or worse he would
