Thunder and Being Prey Essay

“A Sound of Thunder” and Being Prey” have similar themes and conflicts but they are developed in different ways, like not following warning given to them. In “A Sound pf Thunder” when the character doesn’t follow the warnings and he changes the future. IN “Being Prey” when the main character doesn’t follow the warnings and she ends up changing her future.

A “Sound of Thunder” and “Being Prey” are similar but different in several different ways. Both stories take place outside where they are unfamiliar places. In both stories the main charter becomes a prey. In “A Sound of Thunder” the pray is Eckels and the predator is the T-Rex. In “Being Prey” the prey is Val and the predator is the crocodile. In “The Sound of Thunder” Eckels becomes the prey when he uses the time machine to go back in time to the dinosaur …show more content…

In both stories a similar theme is every action has a consequence. In “A Sound of Thunder” Eckels steps off the path and his consequence is that he changes the future. In “Being Prey” Val goes into the main river and disobeys the rangers warning and her consequence is that she got attacked by a crocodile. Also in “A Sound of Thunder” Eckels sees the dinosaur he’s going to hunt and gets scared and panics so his consequence was he changed the future. In “Being Prey” Val gets out of the canoe so her consequence is she gets attacked by a crocodile. Away that the themes are different is the way the conflict effects the main character. In “A Sound of Thunder” Eckels ends up changing the future and in “Being Prey” Val ends up getting attacked by a crocodile. Both stories “A Sound of Thunder” and “Being Prey” have similar themes.

Over all “A Sound of Thunder” and “Being Prey” have many similarities and differences about the theme setting and conflict. “A Sound of Thunder” and “Being Prey” also have similar decisions that the character ends up making and ends up having
