Stonecreek is a public middle school in the Panama Buena Vista School District, where we say, “En loco parentis”, Latin for, “In the place of the parents”. In other words, we will look after your child as if it were our own child, for the whole school day. Many believe it is impossible, with over 200 children at our school, however, what those people don’t believe, is that we have been doing this for over 8 years, and we still have taken good care of them for all these years. We rarely receive any problems with our students, and if we do, we take whatever precaution we find necessary. If you wish to hear the rules we have, and the precautions we are willing to take, meet us in our office at 8000 Akers Rd, Bakersfield, from 8:25 a.m. to 3:25
In “The Man with the Muck-Rake” speech, Roosevelt elucidate the term muckrake; which mainly describes journalist who sought out to expose the evils and injustices of the Gilded Age before they destroy democracy. I believe, the purpose of this speech was to end the dishonest political attacks from journalists and guiding the public perspective toward honesty, sanity, and self-restraint. During this era, numerous reforms were taking place, for example, the new sanction laws in the meat industry (Pure Food and Drug Act and the Meat Inspection Act) was created after the famous novel “The Jungle” portrayed about the filthy condition in Chicago’s meat packaging district and led to the passage of the Meat Inspection Act of 1906. Roosevelt has a lot
Thousands of women have screamed at the top of their lungs, clawed at the patriarchy, and tirelessly fought for their rights as citizens of the United States of America. From the beginning of mankind, women have been labeled as inferior to men not only physically, but mentally and intellectually as well. Only in 1920 did women gain the right to voice their opinions in government elections while wealthy white men received the expected right since the creation of the United States. A pioneer in women’s suffrage, Susan B. Anthony publicly spoke out against this hypocrisy in a time when women were only seen as child bearers and household keepers. Using the United State’s very own Constitution and Declaration as ammunition, Anthony wrote countless
Prolific for its apocalyptic portrayal of President Abraham Lincoln’s election, Senator Robert Toombs’ speech to the Georgia state legislature reveals how Southerners were concerned about the longevity of their lifestyle. Utilizing passionate rhetoric, The South Must Strike while There Is Yet Time illustrates how the future of the Union has become unpredictable and warrants action from legislators. An address of vigorous pathos, Toombs details how the security of Southern values remains paramount to the decision of secession. Moreover, the discourse over secession often features slavery and emphasizes its role in Southern identity, deeming it essential to the preservation of their way of life. The perception of Lincoln as a radical abolitionist
“No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, his background or his religion. People learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite. “ (Nelson Mandela). In the novel, Indian Horse by Richard Wagamese, a young boy named Saul was introduced to the idea of love in a very odd way. In a world full of hatred and racism, he found a way to love himself as well as the world around him through the hardships he encountered.
Charges were filed yesterday by the Animal Defense League against a merchant by the name of Bob Jones who owns a local farm- and his stablehand. According to police reports, they are accused of strapping a donkey to a plow almost too heavy to be dragged by a bull and whipping it violently until it pulled the plow across the field. This abuse continued for several hours, until the donkey was practically on it’s deathbed. When asked, the merchant’s wife claims that he has always been a bit unwell. “It’s gotten especially bad in the past few weeks.
To take another term often used to describe a home run, but this more often used to describe those home runs that maybe going over the fence but the announcer isn’t too sure if it will. This is where the possible inductees on my “ballot” that are on the fringe landed. For years questions have raged on why Mike Piazza isn’t in the Hall of Fame yet, and some even sunk low enough to think it was sabotage. I think Mike just had a cloud over his career due to his cohorts that has been lifted after years of coming so close to making into the Hall of Fame. I believe that 2016 will be the year that one of if the greatest catcher of all time punches his ticket to Cooperstown.

Dear Bill Cosby as a child I use to watch your show almost every day as a child, I always thought your show was the best. I first saw you in a movie California pursuit with Richard Pryor when I was seven years old then, a few months later I saw you on the Cosby show know I admit when I saw your show your wife was the only reason I watched your show. But as I kept watching your show I realized that your show was great from the acting to the purpose of the show. But as I got older for some reason your show disappeared and you vanished so as I got older I thought you died so moved on. Almost 10 years later you resurfaced again, but it was for committing a crime.

When Americans look back to the 20s, they see it as a place where there was drinking and partying all thanks to F. Scott Fitzgerald and his novels.
