Wanted, Wanted, Bandit Queen wanted, reward, dead or alive! Myra Maybelle Shirley was the real name of the wanted criminal known through history. Belle star or the bandit Queen, was born on February 5, in 1848 and died on February 3 1889. She lived on a farm near Carthage, Missouri when her mother and father got married. She was the only girl out of six kids, Myra’s older brother, John Allison “Bud” was born in 1842, and her younger brother, Edwin, was born in 1850, Mrs. Shirley had two more sons in the next ten years, and most of her family members called her May. In fact, before Sam’s death, Sam and Belle had settled in a town called, Briartown. They soon named their home as a hid out for bandits, Younger's Bend, Younger's Bend was a haven for outlaws, where they could retreat from sheriffs and marshalls.
