Human beings needs to connect with other people in order to function naturally in the society. Communities can be found in different backgrounds, cultures and countries around the world. Institution, families, social clubs and group that shares common interest are part of a community. Communities have resources to support each other and provide essentials for individuals to be successful in the society. Having stronger sense of community benefits the contemporary society; community provides support from others, guidance and less isolation to the individuals in the society.
We helped organize the parking lots when the LPGA was in town. We visit the elementary schools in the area to be positive role models for the children. As a group of teenage boys, our team has an atmosphere that is very joking and fun; not leaving much room for serious talks if a teammate is going through a tough time. To make up for
It was really hard for mea t first because it was something knew to me but I started getting the hang of it and I started having fun learning about what they do in this program and how they contribute to their community. Although sometimes it would get tough everything they did had a purpose. The yelling, the physical training, and the tests.
Most people make the assumption that a community is made up of people who live near them when really it could be made up of people from all over the world. The word “community” can mean many things to different people and everyone has their own opinion on what it means to them. To me community means a group of people who all share the same interest, likes, and who are willing to come together and help one another in times of need. That is why I strongly believe that even if you are on the opposite sides of the world from one another you could still come together and be apart of a strong healthy community. To create your own community with others even if it is through the internet is very simple and you really just have to be willing to accept
I love meeting new people who share the same interests and passions as I do. It’s hard to explain just how much this program means to me. When I am older I hope to run for Kentucky State 4-H Teen Council President, and can contribute back to this amazing

I loved this program, because it allowed me to get out there in my community and help give people with mental and/ or physical disabilities, live out there dream. From being a unified partner with their bowling team, to being a unified runner on their Track and field team, to just giving my time as a volunteer helping with the events logistics, it is one program, I am glad i'm affiliated
There we were, in Houston Texas, Dejah, Aniya, and I were warming up, practicing handoffs in tent city. We had made it to the Houston Texas AAU National Junior Olympics. It was No Limits Track Club’s second to last day on our eight day trip. It was the most competitive day of them all. It was time for the four by one hundred meter relay.
A community that I have belonged to since I was two years old is the hockey community. This community has had a tremendous influence on my character and has helped shaped me into who I am today. This community has taught me to be accountable for my actions and that hard work is the foundation for success. It has also taught me discipline and to have respect not only for my teammates, but also for others on and off the ice. I was taught to give back to others who are in need and especially to children, who ultimately see you as a role model.
I smiled gently as my feet sunk into the warm sands of the Punta Cana coast. During a short snorkeling expedition on the magnificent coral reefs, I was abruptly awoken by a loud series of bangs. Who was outside the door this time of night? As the banging got louder, my anger quickly morphed into terror. My mind began racing with the infinite possibilities awaiting me outside the safety of my bedroom.
Community to me is defined as a group of different individuals with different outlooks on each other that are in the same living space, which is sort of like a family. Even though a few will bump heads along the way, I believe that each will learn to
Have you ever ran in a cross country meet? I have ran in countless cross country meets; I have been running cross country for eight years now. Every race I run is a challenge, no matter what, because I push by body to its limit. Most people do not consider cross country to be fun. The enjoyable part is definitely not the race itself, but the feeling afterwards knowing that I kept pushing myself when my body and mind were both telling me to stop.
Being an athlete takes raw talent, drive and time management in a busy life. Throughout my career as an athlete at Sutton Memorial high school I have participated in some of the most demanding sports including cross country indoor and outdoor track. Being on these teams for over six years I have had the honor of seeing legends rise and fall. Athletics are important but academics are still crucial to my future, and my secondary education. I have recently been accepted and admitted to Bryant university to enroll in their accounting/ CPA program to complete my interests in business and enable my future career as an accountant.
My community placement is at Brampton Caledon Community Living. The community is mostly for adults and people with intellectual and physical disabilities. It works to support and empower all people in the area and it works alongside the community and families in the community. Most of the people that attend the program are adults that live with either their parent(s) or a family member (low income) in Bolton. To help reach out to and accommodate to families with lower income, the center charges a small fee for the adult to attend.
