Back in World War II life was different for Jews. They had to deal with hatred from the Nazi Party. It took a lot of courage to stand up for what was right back in World War II. One person who had courage was Ben Kamm. “They blew up factories, sabotaged railroads, stole weapon shipments, and upset the flow of supplies to German troops. This took a lot of courage because Ben Took risks to stop the Germans from gaining more power over the Jews and killing them. When World War II was happening, Germany had a filthy rage for Jews. There were lots of challenges that the Jews faced. But only a few daring teens called the partisans tried to stop Germany’s advance. “Eliminate the Jews,” Hitler proclaimed, “and you will elimanate all of Germany’s problems!” This was Germanys mindset for Jews back then. That is one problem the Jews faced. The next problem that they faced was that “Some 400,000 Jews were crammed into the ghetto. Ben’s family moved into one small room. The gates to the ghetto closed. Nobody was allowed to leave.” This shows that they were living in very harsh conditions. There was High Barbed wire fences, no running water which caused disease, a Nazi policeman going through the streets shooting his gun not caring who he kills. Another problem that they face was disease and starvation in the ghetto. In the text it says, “An epidemic of typhus swept through the crowded apartments, killing thousands. You could not just join a Nazi resitance group and have no courage to fight them. Thats just silly! The first part of courage that Ben had was “They blew up factories, sabotaged railroads, stole weapon shipments, and upset the flow of supplies to German troops.” This shows courage because he took risks to stop the Germans from gaining more power. You also just don’t go blow apart railroads on a normal basis which also shows courage because Ben sabatoged factories. Another piece of courage that Ben showed courage is by “Ben volunteered for dangerous missions by blowing up cargo trains carrying supplies to German Troops. Often, he and his fellow partisans discovered Jews hiding in the forests.” This shows courage because he is helping to slow down German supplies getting to the troops even though he is risking his life. There was also some more courage by Ben’s fellow Partisans. “After the Nazis murdered their family. Three Jewish brothers fought German troops and ran sabotage missions, though their focus was protecting a community of around 1,200 Jewish men, women, and children.” They showed courage for that because Protected a Jewish community from the Germans even though their family was
