Benjamin Franklin was the voice of his generation from his early life to its end he had always given solid advice , and information to those that welcomed it. No matter the person be it colonists, Englishmen, or the French nobles. Benjamin Franklin was one of the world’s most well-known person since he had accomplished many achievements from politics, inventions, to opinions on various topics. In politics, Franklin was a well renowned problem solver as stated in (American history , (47) ). While Franklin was home in England for taxes ,on his family he had taken part with discussions regarding the British taxing rates at the time. One of them was the concept of Daylight Savings Time which stated that “early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise” (American History (40)). This was meant for Franklin to convince his fellow countrymen to go to bed early in order to wake up early and finish work fast. Which in term would allow many to go to bed early in order to save money on candles which would allow the economy to save money rather than using it on candles. Of all the inventions that Franklin had built there was no greater one than his lightning rod which was used to direct lighting from the skies toward it to allow it to transfer harmlessly into the ground. What made this invention so different from his previous was that it was based on a concept that wasnt even comprehended at the time. To the townspeople who saw Franklin's invention first hand , they were awestruck by the feat of the mere protection of their houses from the rod. The lightning rod was constructed atop a building and was made to draw in any lightning that would hit the building and cause a fire to discharge harmlessly into the ground thus nullifying its charge. If Franklin’s stove was the beginning of modern day heating and ventilation , and his concept of daylight savings was the idea to save time. For example Franklin's relationship with Britain had always been rocky ,after he saw the conflict that the British had caused he loved Britain , but he was reprehensive about their methods of showing it. If you were to side against Britain you would be made an example of , in Franklin’s case he was made publicly humiliated to all at a pub in England called the cockpit. After his humiliation at the cockpit Franklin had reconciled all his doubts that England could make up with the colonists and thus he started down his own path, the path that lead to the Americas. Franklin had left his life in Britain for a start in his life in the colonies to rebel against the British in hopes of setting them right for the wrongdoings they had caused. As such Franklin had succeeded but not without a cost , he left his son William Franklin in Britain who had loved it just as much as his father. Though both Franklins had loved Britain their views on it had differed Benjamin had loved the British to the point he wanted to correct the wrongs they had done. While his son , William had loved everything the British had done and agreed with them wholeheartedly. This had lead to a wedge between Benjamin and his son which in time grew to the point of no return. This had become one of Benjamin Franklin’s regrets , he had never made up with his own
