Another heroic civilian was George Walters, a dockyard worker who used a rolling crane positioned alongside the battleship USS Pennsylvania. When the yard was fired at during the beginning of the raid, he valiantly moved his crane back and forth on its track, effectively blocking Pennsylvania from low flying dive-bombers and fighters. Gunners on the Pennsylvania considered the dockworker a nuisance at first, but they soon realized that his 50-foot-high cab gave him an excellent view of incoming zeros. Using the movements of the crane arm, they were able to return fire against the enemy. Walters continued his maneuvers until a Japanese bomb exploded on the dock and sent him to the hospital with a concussion.
Your honor, as I evaluated Gene Forrester, he was exceedingly suspicious, although that doesn’t mean anything quite yet. I didn’t want him to feel uncomfortable, so we talked until I got to know Gene a little better than before. We went where he was most comfortable to talk about the incident. I started off with simple questions to keep him from getting nervous. I asked him about his friendship with Phineas.
Benjamin Franklin, the author of The Autobiography and Sandra Cisneros, the author of Straw Into Gold: The Metamorphosis of the Everyday both define success and how they achieved it, in their piece of writing. Though they both may seem to have similar views on success, they infact differ greatly. Franklin believes that in order to reach success, one must alter himself through the use of a method, while Cisneros believes that rather than changing himself, one can use his imagination and the small things in life to be successful. Furthermore, Franklin describes achieving success at the moment he starts working towards the goal, whereas Cisneros describes achieving success once she has completed her goals.
Jonathan Edwards version of God was very aggressive and unforgiving. Insult after continuing insult, this does not seem like the Jesus Christ with the wonderful forgiving spirit. With the words, “God hates you,” repeated multiple times throughout the sermon, it is truly hypocritical that the God described as forgiving and loving of all would say “I hate you,” every five minutes. I personally feel like this is not the way God would like to be described, and that God would much rather liked to be showed as a forging and gentle spirit.
In Benjamin Franklin’s speech, he uses some phrases that are able to support his opinion on the faults of the constitution. He is willing to change his opinions for the benefit of our people. Ben Franklin believes that opinions are changed over time because even his opinions were changed as he matured and took the opinions of others into consideration. He stated that “- to change opinions even on the important subjects, which I once thought were right, but found to be otherwise.” It is crucial that people not only consider their opinions when making a decision, but also the views of others.

Invoking the words of the Delaware prophet, Neolin, Pontiac recounts the vision which he believes justifies resistance. Neolin urges the tribes to sever all relations to the customs
Thomas Jefferson was thinking about Beverly Hemings again. Beverly was a splendid slave and was very caring, but also one of his sons. It broke Thomas to think that one of his children couldn’t be free or even in general be looked at “equally.”. Although, one afternoon Thomas walked over to the window and took a look out to Beverly. Thomas was thinking about ways to get Beverly freed because he couldn’t deal with it any longer.
Frederick Douglass knew that the war would not be fought by only white men as soon as the Confederate cannons fired on Fort Sumter. At the beginning the white soldiers were reluctant to Blacks fight the war, but after the death toll became too much they finally caved in. When this happened many free blacks went and joined the Union army. This made Douglass happy since he saw justice in fighting the confederacy with free blacks.
Adams states “But despite the apparent inability of political leaders to stand up to the National Rifle Association, five years after Newtown and, more than 1,550 mass shootings later, according to one tally, the desire to dispose of a firearm remains.” This quote explains the dangers of letting people have guns, as you can see in the quote, more than 1550 mass shootings, can you even imagine how many people die in these mass shootings. This amendment is to get rid of all guns in America, which means people are not allowed to get guns and guns won’t exist in America, therefore a terrorist cannot get guns whenever they want, and won’t cost that much of mass shooting we are having nowadays. Lots of citizens have a gun in their home just to protect themselves, but there are lots of others that can help protect themselves if there are no guns, those who might attack them in their house won’t have a gun either. This amendment will take time to apply to all state because we used to be very good at gun
When the resentful citizens of a British colony established on the continent of North America decided to rebel against their mother country, they wrote several documents, including the Constitution. James Madison was the main author, and over the years, the Constitution has become a symbol of the United States and what it stands for. The very first sentence, the Preamble, is important because it establishes the guidelines that citizens of this country try to follow. One of the reasons that Americans decided to rebel was because they thought the king of England, King George III, was unfit to rule over a country several thousand miles away, especially when he was not being as fair and just as he could be. The most a 14 year old boy should have to worry about in 1838 is what chores he has that night, and how long each is going take him so that he can get back to whatever reckless things he feels like doing that day. But, not this time. Andrew Jackson the white president for the next 4 years decided he wants what is ours. He has started sweeping everyone and everything east of the Mississippi river, just because he wanted the land, and if we wouldn’t willingly walk away from what’s ours, he will make us at gunpoint. In this time, families got split up and people died.
I would agree with James Madison because he was trying to help the people. He knew men where not angels at all and if they just behaved then they wouldn't need a government. See the government put down policy's when there is a problem going on. The reason why he wants a stronger government because there is more problems. If things where really that bad i would agree with that because it will never get better if they have strong policy's.
The Second Amendment, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." –James Madison, The Second Amendment. The founders of our country as well as our constitution believed that without weapons in the form of firearms, there is no freedom from the harsh rulings of a corrupt government. These founders had just been freed from the duty of war from a corrupt and harsh government, without their weapons or the weapons of the people; this country would not be where it is today.

The Enlightenment is also referred to as The Age of Reason because its philosophies were mostly based on logic and reason. One important figure who introduced the Enlightenment to America was Benjamin Franklin. “Many of Franklin’s satires work through logic of inversion, taking an established idea and exposing the assumptions that implicitly frame it by demonstrating how it might appear from a reverse perspective” (Giles 48-49).
