When I arrived to the extravagant mead-hall, it was already bustling with obnoxious, roaring men. Everyone was screaming and laughing, having a hearty time partying. The hall was lengthy and towering due to the lofty, vaulted ceilings. White, descriptive pillars rose to the ceilings, showing the gruesome, bloody battles Hrothgar’s army has been involved in. On the walls were beautifully, elaborate stained glass windows, showing the confusing, yet long lineage of the King. At the front of the hall stood a fifteen foot long mahogany table, decorated with steamy, mouthwatering meats. The meats filled the hall with their crispy, buttery smell. Everyone longed to take one bite of the meats and gorge their bulging, plump bellies with more food and drinks. Coming through the front doors, snarling at everyone he saw was Grendel, the vicious, two-legged creature. He had mushrooms growing on his back along with moldy, old warts. Grendel’s arms swung low, dragging on the ground as he walked. His feet were the size of boulders, smelling of limburger cheese and frankly, looking quite like the cheese as well. His yellowing, sharp toenails were bigger than the size of my hand. My friend, Paul, heroically ran forward, throwing his spear at Grendel. The spear just deflected off of Grendel like it was nothing and he stared at Paul. With one quick swoop, Paul was gone. The men began to scream and run around in circles. Grendel attacked again, devouring them all with one chilling, echoing gulp. I laid in my corner, shaking with fear, hoping Grendel wouldn’t notice me. With my luck, I was saved and Grendel left the devastating hall. I laid there, quaking in my corner, holding back my tears and cries in case Grendel decided to come
